Angela Wynter waves goodbye to Walford

Tue 1 Jul 2008

It's been announced that Angela will leave the soap later this year.

Yolande Duke first arrived in Albert Square in September 2003, after a holiday romance with Patrick Trueman, leaving her husband, Victor, behind in Trinidad. After a bumpy start to their romance, the home-loving and positive Yolande fell for Patrick's cheeky charm and became Mrs Trueman in 2004.

Yolande and Pat

The pair haven't escaped their ups and downs, as Yolande discovered Patrick's affair with Pat Evans in 2006. Yolande has also been accused of a one-night-stand with Aubrey Valentine - Patrick's old friend. But last year, her marriage doubts were short-lived after he was attacked at the Minute Mart.

Yolande co-runs the Minute Mart and lives at the Bed & Breakfast. She's a religious and thoughtful woman who's even tried to foster a young girl.

Angela Wynter said about her departure from EastEnders : "Life is about changes and new beginnings."
