The glittering ceremony, hosted by Rob Brydon at Grosvenor House, London was dominated by the BBC, as BBC One succeeded with nine prizes. BBC Two and Four both claimed four trophies.

The show celebrated its 25th anniversary by airing a live episode on Friday, 19 February 2010 which revealed that Stacey murdered Archie Mitchell.
