Honey's surprise wedding

Mon 04 Sep 2006

Things are touch and go when Peggy springs a gift-wrapped wedding ceremony on Honey and Billy.

Billy and Honey

Honey feels like a beached whale. Billy points out that she's only got another month until the birth. She refuses to go shopping with Peggy, unaware that it's part of her surprise wedding plan.

Peggy, Phil and Ben

Peggy's frantic with the wedding preparations. Ben refuses to wear a kilt to the ceremony. Phil tries to change Ben's mind, but he's adamant that he won't be bought.

Billy

Billy's upset that the flat and video shop are being sold. Phil distracts him with news of the surprise wedding. He orders Billy to get Honey out of bed.

Jack

Jack finds Peggy at her wits' ends. She still can't get Honey out of bed. Jack convinces Honey that her gloomy mood is having a negative effect on the baby. Honey takes Jack's point.

Honey and Peggy

Honey and Peggy are picked up in Charlie's cab for a day of shopping. Honey's confused by the scenic route they're taking. She doesn't understand why Peggy keeps checking her mobile.

Billy

Billy keeps Jack waiting while he changes into his suit. All the excitement is giving him a weak bladder. While Jack and Billy race to the church, Charlie's forced to keep driving around.

SJ and Minty

Minty dresses in his usher's outfit for the wedding. He heads to the park with SJ where they get tipsy. He lets slip that he'd like to marry her. Minty dreams of having a family, but SJ's more interested in owning a big fridge.

Honey and Peggy

Honey's confused when the cab pulls up outside the church. Peggy announces with pride that Honey's getting married. Honey thanks Peggy, but insists that the time isn't right. Billy's heartbroken.

Garry

Garry fusses as Minty still hasn't arrived at the church. He admits to Naomi that he thinks SJ's a bad influence. Garry's disgusted when Minty and SJ stumble in drunk.

Honey and Billy

Honey explains to Billy that she doesn't want to marry until the baby's born. Billy assures her that her happiness is paramount. Meanwhile, Jack and Peggy talk awkwardly about their liaison. They agree to remain friends.

Honey and Billy

Honey reveals that she's concerned about her size. Billy insists that she's more beautiful than ever and he loves her more than anything. Billy gets an earful when he breaks it to Peggy that the wedding's off.

Peggy

Peggy's affronted when Billy argues that she wasn't asked to plan their wedding. Honey interrupts, embracing Billy and proposing marriage to him. The wedding's back on.

Phil and Billy

Phil feels agitated. In order to persuade Ben to wear a kilt, he had to agree to wear one too. Billy winds up Phil by fussing about the wedding rings constantly.

Aunty Caroline, Honey, Ben and Peggy

Honey apologises to Peggy for having doubts about the wedding. She invites both Peggy and Aunty Caroline to be matrons of honour. Jack's struck by Honey's resemblance to her mother.

Honey

At the altar, Honey gasps as she feels her first contraction. She grabs Billy and launches into a breathing exercise. Billy wants to take her to hospital, but Honey's determined to continue. Billy urges the vicar to hurry.

Billy and Honey

The vicar pronounces Billy and Honey husband and wife. As Billy leans in for a kiss, Honey reveals that her waters have broken. The baby's well and truly on its way. Billy's left speechless.
