
Alfie halts the proceedings and announces that he needs a word with Kat. He admits sheepishly that he never got his divorce papers through in time. Ray's just a mate doing him a favour. Kat's outraged.
Den hears a noise and turns to see Phil burst into the club. With one arm in a sling and a mad glint in his eye, Phil sends Den flying. Furniture and glasses shatter as Phil wreaks his revenge.
Alfie witters on until Kat orders him to belt up. She can't believe that he was prepared to go through with a fake wedding ceremnoy. She feels humiliated and warns Alfie that he can't talk his way out of this one.
Den flattens Phil with a chair. He tries to reason with Phil, and asks him what he wants. Phil hasn't thought that far ahead. He reckons that Den's out of his depth. Den won't be intimidated by a playground bully.
Den offers Phil the two hundred grand that's in his safe. It's the proceeds from the robbery, and it'll go a long way for a man on the run. He'll hand it over in exchange for his safety. Phil considers the offer.
Dennis walks in and receives a crippling punch to the gut. Phil remarks that it's personal. Dennis wants to fight back, but Den stops him. They hear sirens outside, and Phil decides to take the money.
Spencer wonders if he should help his brother. Dot reckons that Alfie's having second thoughts about marrying into the Slaters. Sam's concerned about Phil's safety as the Ferrieras spot the police cars outside.
Alfie explains that as long as Kat loves him, none of this matters. She snaps back that he's now ruined two wedding days! She sighs - she does love Alfie, but he keeps messing things up. He protests that it's just a hiccup.
Kat's tired of being seen as cheap. She viewed today as her big chance to put the past behind her. She rushes off and locks herself in the loo. Alfie tries to charge the door down, but comes away with a bruised shoulder.
Den puts the cash in a bag. Dennis blocks Phil's exit, but Den calls him away. Phil drops a hint that it's not all over between them. In the Square, he spots the old bill and legs it up an alley way.
Alfie pours his heart out to Kat. She fumes that he's kept the truth from her again. He swears never to tell another lie. He takes a deep breath and goes downstairs to announce that the wedding's off.
Alfie's bacon is saved when Lewis strolls in with the divorce papers. Alfie's beside himself and gets on the phone to the registrar. He doesn't care that he's having his Christmas dinner. Alfie needs to get married right now!
Sam meets Phil in the cafe. She's brought Ricky along. He's surprised to learn that he's going to help Phil to escape. Phil rages about everyone who's let him down. He swears that he'll get both of his children back.
Den and Dennis shake hands and agree to start over. Den urges his son not to mention any of this to Sharon. He can deal with psychopaths, but women with the hump are a different matter!
At last, Kat and Alfie are married. Nana and Charlie are tearful, and Spencer makes his best man's speech. Alfie has one more surprise for Kat. He asks her to close her eyes and leads her outside.
Kat's thrilled to see the Square covered in snow, thanks to cousin Maxwell's snow machine. Everyone celebrates as festive songs blare out of the Vic. Phil peeks out of the car window as he leaves Walford.
