About John Altman
John was born in Reading, Berkshire and moved to Kent as a child.
In 2001, he won the Rear of the Year Award alongside Claire Sweeney!
John's played Nasty Nick from the very first episode in 1985 to 1993, again in 1998, and from 2000 to 2001.
John made his acting debut in the 1979 film The First Great Train Robbery. Later that year he played George Harrison in a TV movie called Birth of the Beatles.
John has made many stage appearances. One of his most popular roles has been Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago.
He played three characters in John Godber's stage play Bouncers.
TV appearances have included Minder, The Paradise Club, Blackhearts in Battersea, Balamory and Bo' Selecta!
He had minor roles in Quadrophenia, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and An American Werewolf in London.
