"It's good to see a return to normal real-life scenarios."
|
"Waking the Dead continues to be the only programme on TV that I never miss. The character mix is ingenius, while the screenplay and acting always feels so natural but also intense. I think Trevor Eve and Sue Johnston are particularly compelling, and the recent addition of Tara FitzGerald to the team is great.
It's good to see that the last couple of stories have returned to more mainstream forensic plots involving normal real-life scenarios. The first couple seemed to be a little bit wayward and I was starting to worry that the programme makers had run out of ideas. I'm proved wrong yet again."

"I thoroughly enjoyed this. The dynamics of the team are excellently acted out. However I wish as the viewer I could have been allowed to solve the mystery with the team rather than been privy to flashbacks. I solved the mystery in the first half hour. It was slightly strenuous watching the team wade through the mystery. At times it felt as if they were being purposely slow. But I still thoroughly enjoyed Grace bringing Boyd down a peg or two."

"This was a disappointing episode - basically a run of the mill story about child abuse in a home, without any twist.
I still have no idea who sent the wallets in the first place, or why. Interaction between the team was reduced to pointless and unbelievable exchanges, rather than using the individuality of the characters to take us somewhere in the story.
We need to see the team actually solving a crime, or at least working through to some sort of resolution of the story, rather than chasing after it. Otherwise why should we bother watching them? They are an interesting crew but we hardly saw them as characters at all in Part 2. The script seriously let down the excellent acting, I'm afraid."

"A distressing and provocative storyline."
|
"An episode that infused the best turnings and plot reversals. It was a distressing and provocative storyline that questioned the decision of who was wrong and who was right? Is it fair to beat a child? Is it right to seek revenge on those who harm children?
I think child abuse is an ever growing issue and this plot really addressed the long term psychological restraints it causes the human mind."

"I found this story both upsetting and disturbing. This is not a criticism, child abuse and its affects should disturb us - but I wanted to commend the actor who played James. His performance was heart-rending and uncomfortably authentic. I work with abused adults and was deeply touched; as much as I was angered by Boyd's early attitude to James and his impatience with Grace."
