When a skeleton is discovered in a Church crypt, Boyd and his team suspect it was never meant to be found. The team interview the local community and awaken deeply hidden family secrets. Frankie learns that the skeleton and a priest may be related as both show symptoms of Huntington's Chorea. She discovers the remains are those of a young man who had been buried for 20 years with various ritual items. The hunt is on for the killer and the victim's mother. Meanwhile, the investigation opens old wounds for Boyd, still in despair over the disappearance of his own son.

The body of a police officer, who was being stalked, is pulled from the Thames. Boyd and the team track down murdered police officer Debbie's married lover, but he denies killing her. Stalker Christopher Redford is ready to confess to the murder, but Grace is not convinced he's the guilty man.
