Episode 8

"Why doesn't Harry work out that as soon as someone from another department comes in, they're bound to be linked to something dodgy?

There was plenty of tension in this episode but a bit of plot coherence was sacrificed. We never really saw what motivated the bishop and the civil servant.

But it was great to watch. And I'm wondering where Adam's crack-up is going to go in the next episode."

David, Yeovil

"The scene in which the bishop couldn't face attacking the extremist was brilliantly filmed, a typical Spooks moment with high tension but a non-violent, realistic conclusion.

However Ros out-fighting a trained military unit at the end epitomises the way the lead characters have been turned into American-style action heroes. Go back to the set up of old where the Spooks did a runner and sent in the SAS."

Will, Cambridge

"Broadening the extremist threats which MI5 have to deal with is interesting. Spooks is intelligent, enjoyable and sympathetic to the 'human side' of things.

One criticism - it's fairly implausible that two MI5 agents could have wreaked such havoc in the dark on a squad of Mossad hit-men equipped with night vision. These guys are usually trained by Israeli Special Forces, who are on par with the SAS. So the scene where the British woman agent was 'knocking the Mossad guy about a bit', was fairly ludicrous to say the least.

Otherwise, a good episode."

Philip, Guildford

"Ignore all negative reviews - some people are never satisfied. Spooks is the best drama ever produced by the BBC.

The characters are professional enough to be believable but human enough to connect with the viewers. Relevant storylines with great action and political skullduggery all wrapped into one."

Chris Reed, Sussex

"Spooks is back on track. The Mossad, hand-to-hand combat, guns, bombs, political and religious intrigue and subterfuge. Viable, credible and character-driven.

Only negative point - either give all the central protagonists a personal life or back away from Adam's."

Sherie Athow, London
