On his way to the airport to intercept Valentino, Adam's mugged and, thinking his attacker must be involved in the operation, he fatally strikes back. To make matters worse, Valentino manages to evade MI5.

It soon transpires that the 'mugger' was a journalist investigating the Tehran train bomb. If the truth about the botched operation and Adam killing a journalist comes out, the ramifications could be disastrous.

Yalta help Ros to trace Valentino and, in return, she agrees to bug the Grid. With Valentino in custody, the team locate his bag and the precious blueprints. They remove the codes but allow Valentino to escape and return to his bag - they want him to go through with the exchange so that they can trace the Iranian buyer.

Following a showdown with Bob Hogan, Harry and Adam learn that the US had actually set up the whole deal - the codes were faulty and intended to set the Iranian nuclear programme back years. As the operation disintegrates around them, it becomes clear that every side is now working to a different agenda.

Meanwhile, Adam meets Ana for what must be the last time. But, after sleeping with him, she drugs him and leaves him in the bath to drown. On learning from a source that Ana has been compromised, Ros races to find Adam and resuscitates him. Meanwhile, Adam's alarmed to hear two gun shots - has Ros killed Ana?
