About this film

The animation was produced under the guidance of the Artist in Residence at the school. The origin of the story was an English lesson, where pupils looked at themes from Shakespeare plays, after which the pupils were encouraged to write thier own stories. One story was chosen to be taken into extension work, where several children worked on the animation. The pupils drew all the designs, cut out the puppets, set up equipment and animated. They recorded most of the sound, and used some sound from copyright-free websites. The Artist in Residence helped to introduce the pupils to animation including the technique of cut-out animation, and guided them through the process of animation and thinking about how the whole film, including the use of speech and sounds, would fit together.

Your reviews

Jana
really good animation, beautifully drawn.

Vanessa Blades
I like it that the story has been set in a school and is about an issue that all children can relate to.
