Watch a 60 Second Shakespeare

"Romeo and Juliet montage"

By Grasmere Primary School

Featuring the pupils of Grasmere Primary School.

Watch "Romeo and Juliet montage"

About this film

Year 6 from Grasmere Primary in Stoke Newington was the first school to be involved in a pilot project for primary schools in Hackney to experience the 60 Second challenge.

They produced their own re-telling of Romeo and Juliet in a day's workshop with the BBC in the classroom, with 30 pupils engaged in the process. They made four 60 Second pieces that they storyboarded and planned throughout the day and then were put together using PhotoStory 3 to make the final piece that you see here.

Caz
I really liked this movie but it was a bit long (more than 60 secs). It was impressive- espeically for there age.

Maddie
Possibly not a the best of beginnings, you could work on that next time, to draw the viewer in. But as it continued I think you really portrayed the essence of the play and the facial expressions and tone were great, well done!

Saskia
Aaaw. You looked really very in love! Shame at the end I agree with Bethany!

Hayley
You can't understand what they are saying most of the time, but good attempt.

Not that good coming from a year 6 group - could have done better. Maybe different clothes would make it look better, but overall.. well done !! :D

G. Smith
Not bad for a yr 6 one. I go to Balshaws High School and that was much better than this. But a very good try. Well done.

Rachel
Well done, that was really good!

Mrs Jones
Well done, very well documented.

Bethany
I really liked the production of Romeo and Juliet. I hated the part at the end when romeo and juliet died.
