Emma started acting at a young age. She already has an impressive CV, as a comedy and dramatic actor, including roles in Beast, The Worst Week of My Life, Charles II: The Power, Hotel Babylon and the Passion and Bloodlines.
What's she been in?
Emma's acting career started at the age of 17. She successfully auditioned for the part of Becky Radcliffe in everlasting school soap Grange Hill, whilst in the middle of studying for her own A levels.
She went straight on to star as Jackie Burget in Days Like These, a UK remake of US sitcom That 70's Show. Rather predictably, it didn't live up to the success of its American original, but did help to launch Emma's comedy career.
Emma plays foxy and ambitious Anna in Hotel Babylon, the sexy drama inspired by Imogen Edwards-Jones' exposé of the luxury hotel business.
In 2006 Emma also appeared in historical drama Riot at the Rite, about the provocative first performance of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring in 1913. She played Romola, a girl so infatuated with ballet dancer Nijinsky that she follows him to every one of his performances.
Emma has often worked with one or both of the comedy duo Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller. She played various roles in their self-named Channel 4 sketch show, which is probably best remembered for surreal naturist vet sketches Nude Practice. Sorry lads, Emma wasn't in those particular bits!
Emma did appear in a TV vet's studio with Alexander Armstrong in the BBC sitcom Beast, playing sadistic trainee vet Jade. More recently, she played Sophie Cook in The Worst Week of My Life, a sitcom about the appalling series of events that befall Howard Steel (Ben Miller) as he attempts to marry Mel Cook (Sarah Alexander).
Other comedy roles for Emma included naive would-be actress Sapphire in Bedtime and no-nonsense barmaid Connie in series two of Al Murray vehicle Time Gentlemen Please. Based on Murray's popular stand-up character The Pub Landlord, this programme also starred Phil Daniels.
Emma's more serious roles have included orange-purveying Royal mistress Nell Gwyn in Charles II: The Power and the Passion and Juliette in Labour Party drama The Project.
Her weightiest role to date has been that of Justine Hopkins in two part drama Bloodlines. Starring alongside Hotel Babylon co-star Max Beesley, she played a young PC whose investigations into the murder of her father throw up some very disturbing discoveries.
In 2004 Emma starred as AWOL porker-publicising journo Jenny Best in The Legend of the Tamworth Two. She starred alongside Inspector Morse and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet actor Kevin Whately in this true story of two skedaddling swine who escaped the abbatoir with their bacon intact.
Emma's guest roles include appearances on Coupling, Absolutely Fabulous and My Hero.

Emma's hobbies include rock climbing and scuba diving. She's also a keen photographer.
She taught English as a foreign language in Sri Lanka in the winter of 2003/4. Her links with the country prompted her to help pack aid supplies after the tsunami struck a year later.
Personal Details
She was born on 30th April 1981 in Plymouth, Devon.
Her father was a Naval officer working on submarines, and at one point was the Lieutenant Commander on Polaris. Her mother was a nurse.
