Christopher Eccleston

Star of many classic TV dramas, including Doctor Who, Our Friends in the North, Cracker and Hillsborough.

In 2005, Christopher played the Ninth Doctor in Russell T. Davies' revival of TV classic Doctor Who. Starring alongside Billie Piper, he took on new foes as well as old adversaries the Daleks, before regenerating into David Tennant at the end of the series.

He's appeared in a host of other popular TV drama series and one-offs. His roles include Cracker, where his character was murdered by a psychopath played by Robert Carlyle, Our Friends in the North, Clocking Off and Flesh and Blood.

Christopher's not averse to more light-heated television, having guest starred in The League of Gentleman and Linda Green.

He's also a respected film actor, who first came to prominence with his affecting portrayal of Derek Bentley in the film Let Him Have It, and in the highly successful Shallow Grave, alongside Ewan McGregor.  Other credits include Elizabeth, starring Cate Blanchett, Jude, opposite Kate Winslet, and The Others, with Nicole Kidman.
