Best known for playing Elizabeth I in The Virgin Queen and Fiona Gallagher in Shameless.
When she starred in 2006's The Virgin Queen, Anne-Marie became the latest in a long line of acclaimed actresses to play Queen Elizabeth I, following the likes of Bette Davis, Glenda Jackson and Helen Mirren.
In complete contrast, she was BAFTA nominated for her role as Fiona Gallagher in the hit Channel 4 drama Shameless. She was stunned to land the part of a 20-year-old character at the age of 30. When Anne-Marie first read the scripts for Shameless, she says she didn't realise it was a comedy - she thought it was a gritty drama!
She also played Minette in the Charles II: The Power and the Passion, and starred with Colin Firth in Born Equal.
Other credits include the film The Magdalene Sisters, and TV dramas Sinners, Doctor Zhivago and The Way We Live Now.
