Scott is Danny's older brother and landlord. He is everything Danny isn't. A successful lobbyist, he's confident and sexually successful. He loves the game of politics - the networking, gossiping and power-broking. His work has him regularly visiting Portcullis House so he makes sure he drops in on Danny to banter and to flirt with Kirsty. He also happens to be very good at what he does. People trust him. And he uses this to its full advantage.
When their father died it rocked Danny more than Scott, who was that bit older and tends to bury his feelings. Scott's protective of his little brother and cares about him much more than he lets on.
Scott bought into the New Labour project and celebrated hard in '97. Over the years though, like many of his generation, optimism gave way to disillusionment. The lure of money took him into the world of lobbying, a way of staying in politics without having to get his hands dirty. When he meets Ashika, she reignites his interest in partisan politics. It leads him to run the Labour party campaign in the upcoming by-election - ironically fighting the woman who's helped him get there.
