Nikki Sanderson plays Sammy Dean - episodes 2 and 8

Nikki's first screen role was Abby in kid's soap Children's Ward. Obviously starting as she meant to go on, she then joined Coronation Street* as bimbette and wannabe model Candice Stowe. In 2005 she finally left the show - her character going on the road with Status Quo, of all things. She's also presented CD:UK and Saturday Showdown, as well as guesting on Casualty.

Mark Womack plays Mark Richards - episode 3

Liverpool born actor Mark Womack got his big break, appropriately enough, in TV series Liverpool 1, playing DC Mark "Cally" Callaghan. His other credits include roles in Rockface, Merseybeat, and Clocking Off. He's no stranger to legal series, having starred in New Street Law co-creator Matthew Hall's earlier series A Wing and a Prayer, as well as guest starring in Judge John Deed and Outlaws. He's also appeared on shows including Murphy's Law and Casualty. He was married to Liverpool 1 co-star Samantha Janus, with whom he has a son, but they have since divorced.

Les Dennis plays Kenny Logan - episode 4

Comedian and presenter Les Dennis is best known for presenting Family Fortunes for over 15 years. Other TV credits include The Russ Abbot Show and The Les Dennis Laughter Show. He was formerly married to Amanda Holden, and sensationally broke down on Celebrity Big Brother* over their marriage breakup. He's recently guest starred in Ricky Gervais comedy Extras and drama Hotel Babylon, as well as performing in stage musical Chicago.

Tony Slattery plays Dr Harr - episode 5

A comedian and actor, Tony Slattery was part of the Perrier Award-Winning Cambridge Footlights team of 1981, and has continued to perform live since. On TV, he's best known for appearing on improvisation series Whose Line Is It Anyway, as well as his own show, Slattery and McShane. He recently played Eric in Coronation Street.* He's also appeared in films including Peter's Friends and Blackball.

Amongst the many shows Tony has guest starred in are The Last Detective, Bad Girls, Meet the Magoons and Casualty.

Shobna Gulati plays Salina Morris - episode 8

Shobna is best known for playing shop assistant Sunita in Coronation Street*, a role she held from 2000 until very recently. She's also appeared in EastEnders, playing Amina, and in two series of Victora Wood comedy Dinnerladies. She was a contestant in ITV singing competition Soapstar Superstar*.
