He's had ongoing roles in TV series including Z Cars*, Danger UXB*, Therese Raquin*, Brideshead Revisited*, and guest starred in Inspector Morse*, Dalziel and Pascoe and Hustle among others. He recently starred as Pompey Magnus in Rome, and as Harold Wilson in BBC FOUR's The Lavender List.

Self-satisfied and deeply conservative, Sally enjoys the status her husband's money brings her. She has no real feel for culture, seeing it only as a way of showing off how wealthy they are. Easily shocked, she is quick to condemn anyone with a lifestyle at odds with her own.

At one point engaged to be married to Toby Fedden, Sophie Tipper is a beautiful would-be-actress whose career has so far failed to get off the ground.
