Penny Kent (played by Lydia Leonard)
Gerald Fedden often says he couldn't do without Penny Kent, his researcher. In turn, Penny is devoted to her boss. Perhaps a little too devoted.
Lydia Leonard
Lydia studied at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School*, where she performed in plays including Love's Labours Lost and Twelfth Night. After graduating in 2003, she won a BBC Radio Drama Carleton Hobbs bursary. Her radio credits include playing Lady Mabel in a twelve-part adaptation of Anthony Trollope's series of political novels, and Goodwill in The Pilgrim's Progress.
On-screen, she had an ongoing role in 50s-set detective series Jericho* starring Robert Lindsay, and has had guest roles in Midsomer Murders and Foyle's War*. She also appeared in classical epic Rome, playing the wife of Pompey Magnus, Julia, who dies in childbirth. Pompey was played by Line of Beauty co-star Kenneth Cranham.
Lydia recently appeared on stage as Polyxena in a Royal Shakespeare Company* production of Hecuba starring Vanessa Redgrave.
