Series 3 Guest Stars

Episode 1 - Mel Smith is Benny Frazier
Mel is best known for comedy - he was part of the Not the Nine O'Clock News line-up, and half of double act Smith and Jones with Griff Rhys Jones. He's had a successful career in films, behind and in front of the camera. Credits include writing and appearing in 1985 comedy Morons from Outer Space, directing Bean and The Tall Guy, and playing Inspector Flint in Wilt.

Episode 1 - Linford Christie is himself
World class athlete Linford Christie is the only European to have run 100 metres in under 10 seconds (9.87 to be exact). He has two silver and one gold Olympic medals to his name as well as many other international Championships. Linford retired from athletics in 1997.

Episode 1 - Sara Cox is herself
Sara is a well-known Radio 1 DJ, who has hosted both the drivetime and breakfast shows.

Episode 3 - Richard Chamberlain is JW3
A 60s heartthrob, Richard's best known for the starring role in Dr Kildare. Other notable parts include John Blackthorn in Japan-set miniseries Shogun, and Ralph de Bricassart in The Thorn Birds. He came out as gay at the age of 69, with his autobiography Shattered Love.

Episode 3 - Stephen Campbell Moore is Quenton
Stephen's credits include parts in TV drama He Knew He Was Right and a starring role in Stephen Fry film Bright Young Things. Look out for him in upcoming film version of The History Boys.

Episode 3 - Terence Harvey is Charles
The many TV shows Terence has appeared on include Bad Girls*, Hollyoaks* and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries.

Episode 4 - Silas Carson is Kulvinder Samar
Silas' best known roles are four parts in the Star Wars prequels - Ki-Adi-Mundi, Viceroy Nute Gunray, Neimoidian Senator Lodd Dodd and Republic Cruiser co-pilot. He also has TV credits including parts in Always and Everyone, The Project, William and Mary, Absolute Power and Spooks.

Episode 4 - Renu Setna is Harold
Renu Setna made his screen debut as Mr Chaudri in Crossroads in 1964. Since then he's had parts in shows including It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Are You Being Served, I Claudius, Doctor Who and Only Fools and Horses. He also appeared in Bridget Jones' Diary.

Episode 5 - Paul Kaye is Tim Millen
Paul Kaye started out with celebrity-hassling character Dennis Pennis, who grew from appearances on The Sunday Show to his own show, Anyone for Pennis? Since killing off the character in 1997, he's appeared in dramas including Two Thousand Acres of Sky and Waking the Dead, and films such as Blackball and Agent Cody Banks 2.

Episode 5 - Kenneth Cranham is Frances Owen
During a career spanning four decades, Kenneth's dozens of film and TV appearances include parts in Z Cars, Danger UXB, Brideshead Revisited, Murder Most Horrid, Heartbeat and most recently Rome.

Episode 5 - Martin Townsend is himself
Martin is the real-life editor of the Sunday Express* newspaper.

Episode 6 - Ian Puleston-Davies is DCI York
Ian's TV credits include parts in Funland, Dalziel and Pascoe, The Bill*, and I'm Alan Partridge. He co-wrote award winning drama Dirty Filthy Love, drawing on his own experiences as a sufferer of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Episode 6 - Paul Nicholls is Adam Rice
Paul came to prominence playing troubled teen Joe Wicks in EastEnders. TV appearances since then have included Canterbury Tales, A Thing Called Love, and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Find out more about Paul Nicholls »

Episode 6 - Charles Daish is Cooper
Charles' credits include Harbour Lights, Cold Feet, Monarch of the Glen, Mile High and Spooks.

Episode 1 - Charlie Creed Miles was Howard Jennings

Charlie's television credits include White Teeth, Station Jim and Charles II The Pride and The Passion. His film credits include Nil By Mouth, King Arthur and Essex Boys.

Episode 1 - Ronald Pickup was Harry Holmes

Ronald was last seen as Professor Sir Roy Meadow in Cherished. His career spans over 35 years and includes TV series The Riff Raff Element and Cambridge Spies, and films The Mission and The Day of the Jackal.

Episode 2 - Stanley Townsend was Johnny Keyes

Stanley's television credits include Omagh, Fallen and Jonathan Creek. His theatre credits include Art and Guys and Dolls. He also won the Irish Times Best Actor Award for The Shining City (at The Royal Court & Gate Theatre, Dublin) and was also nominated for an Evening Standard Award for same role.

Episode 2 - Rebecca Lacey was Juliette Keyes

Rebecca has worked across comedy and drama roles. Well-known as Hilary in the successful sitcom May to December and as George Woodman in Casualty in the late 1990s. Rebecca has most recently appeared in Monarch of the Glen.

Episode 3 - Lee Ingleby was Trevor

Lee's film credits include Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban and Master and Commander: Far Side of the World. His television credits include Blue Murder, Clocking Off and Nicholas Nickleby.

Episode 4 - Fay Ripley was Sam Phillips

Fay Ripley has television credits including four series of Cold Feet, I Saw You, The Stretford Wives and Fungus The Bogeyman.

Episode 5 - Max Beesley was Jake

Best know for uncompromising medical drama Bodies, Max has also starred in Tom Jones and Thief Takers. He is also a highly skilled percussionist and has played alongside Robbie Williams at Knebworth and toured with Take That.

Episode 6 - Vincent Regan was DCI Wells

Vincent has starred in successful crime dramas Murphy's Law and Messiah II. He was Eudorus to Brad Pitt's Troy in 2004's Troy and continues his foray into ancient history when he is Marc Anthony in the upcoming Empire on TV.

Episode 6 - Robert Llewellyn was MC

Robert is known to fans of space comedy Red Dwarf as Kryten 2X4B 523P. Keep an eye out for him in 2005 in the fantasy adventure film MirrorMask.

Episode 2 - Robert Pugh was Frank Gorley

Robert has an impressive list of TV credits, including The Lakes, Prime Suspect 6, New Tricks and Waking the Dead. Film appearances include Master and Commander: Far Side of the World and Enigma.

Episode 3 - Orla Brady was Meredith Gates

Orla has starred in Servants and The Debt. Catch her in 2005's TV series Empire, co-starring Hustle series 2 guest star Vincent Regan.

Episode 4 - David Walliams was Dress Shop Manager

Little Britain talent, David also has a serious side. He's starred in several serious drama productions including EastEnders and Attachments.

Episode 4 - David Calder was Victor Maher

David has appeared in The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and Spooks, plus Bramwell, Tumbledown and Star Cops.

Episode 5 - Tamzin Outhwaite was Katherine Winterborn

Tamzin found fame as Melanie in EastEnders. She went on to star in Red Cap and the critically acclaimed Out of Control and Final Demand. 2005 sees her in Hollywood, shooting 7 Seconds with Wesley Snipes.

Episode 5 - Ben Miles was Steven Winterborn

Ben plays Patrick in popular comedy Coupling. Drama roles include The Forsyte Saga, Prime Suspect 6, A Thing Called Love and 2005's Mr Harvey Lights A Candle for the BBC.

Episode 5 - Branka Katic was Olenka

Played Tatiana Taylor in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet; Branka has also starred in Byron and Clocking Off for the BBC.

Episode 6 - David Haig was Anthony Reeves

Very memorable in comedic roles, David was Det. Insp. Derek Grim in The Thin Blue Line and Bernard in Four Weddings And A Funeral. But he's also played serious roles in dramas Crime and Punishment, Dalziel and Pascoe, and Soldier, Soldier.
