Season 1

Ando discovered that in the future he was killed by Sylar. Ando went after Sylar but was easily overpowered, dropping the 9th Wonders! comic book that depicted Sylar being killed by Hiro. Sylar laughed at the suggestion that Hiro could ever defeat him. Hiro arrived just as Sylar was about to kill Ando and teleported him back to Japan. Hiro then teleported back to Kirby Plaza to fulfil his destiny and kill Sylar.

Season 2

Ando returned to New York and waited for Hiro to return, along with Hiro's father Kaito, but there was no sign of him. Ando eventually discovered that Hiro had sent him messages secretly hidden in Kensei's sword. Ando had the unfortunate task of telling Hiro his father had been murdered. The pair found evidence to suggest Adam Monroe was the murderer - and they also uncovered Adam's plot to destroy the world.

Season 3

Ando was still supporting Hiro and playing the role of the sidekick. But when Hiro journeyed into the future everything had changed. Ando had powers and the two were fighting each other. What had happened for them to get to that point? Ando convinced Hiro to trust him in the present, and continued to accompany him on his quest. Unfortunately things didn't work out well when Hiro stabbed Ando to prove he was tough enough to join Pinehearst. Luckily the stabbing was faked and the pair headed off to Africa, where Ando saved Hiro from Arthur's attack. Hiro reverted to a child-like state and, after stopping off for waffles, whisked him and Ando to Sam's Comics store. Luckily 9th Wonders! devotees Sam and Frack were on hand to assist, and Ando asked them to help Hiro regain his memory. Once Ando, Matt and Daphne discovered from Isaac's sketchbook that Hiro was lost in time, Ando was desperate to travel back to help his friend. After Daphne stole a syringe of Mohinder's formula, Ando injected himself with it. But instead of time travelling, he discovered he had the ability to amplify powers. He super-charged Daphne and they travelled back 16 years to rescue Hiro, allowing him to destroy the formula. In Volume 4, Ando rebelled against Hiro's ambitions for him to be a superhero. However, when Hiro was captured, Ando returned and used the microchips to trace Hiro's whereabouts. He travelled to Russellville with Daphne, and, reunited with Hiro, they decided to go to India. Ando convinced the Indian bride to stop the wedding, much to Hiro's annoyance, but was then held hostage by the angry groom. A fax from 'Rebel' directed him back to Los Angeles. There he found a baby called Matt Parkman who needed his and Hiro's help. Ando used his power to hold off the government agents, but was ultimately rescued by Hiro when the baby helped him regain his power over time. Ando kept baby Matt entertained so that Hiro could save big Matt. Furious at being treated as bait, the newly named 'Crimson Arc' saved Hiro's life. This made Hiro accept him as an equal hero, rather than a sidekick. He helped to save those captured in Building 26.
