Your Reviews: Episode 5

Hugh Bonneville as DSI Iain Barclay

We asked for your comments on Five Days, you said:

"I can't remember ever seeing death, bereavement, or the English summer depicted this believably."
"I was in a bit of a state watching this episode. I don't think I've ever come across a piece of television that is so acutely truthful, emotionally. The writing, directing and acting is uniformly and beautifully subtle, credible and evocative. I can't remember ever seeing death, bereavement, or the English summer depicted this believably."

Lucas Hare, Hertfordshire

"Really enjoying this drama but, as others have commented, it would have been better to screen it over five consecutive days.

I think that Kyle's in cahoots with someone in the family. Remember him desperately trying to contact someone on his mobile just after he had abducted the children?"

Linda Gaffney, Birmingham

"Clearly Tanya and her dad are up to something."
"Clearly Tanya and her dad are up to something in Episode 4. They leave the grandparents' house in one car and change to another by the time they are passing the runners (check the number plates). What? A continuity mistake? Surely not! We do love the show though."

Martin & Val Joss, Harlow

"I'm absolutely hooked on this programme, the story's gripping, the acting's fabulous.

I have my suspicions on the murderer's identity and motive, but I'm sure there will be another twist in this tale, which will blow my theory away."

Angie Tadman, Trowbridge

"What started as a very absorbing drama has degenerated into a totally unbelieveable storyline. There are far too many improbable sub-plots; the relationship between Matt and Sarah is ridiculous, the police reaction to everything is akin to comatose, the presence of the juggernaut when the victim disappeared is key to everything, although it appears to have been forgotten about. Come on, credit the viewers for having some intelligence."

David, Sussex

"The show supplies enough twists and turns to keep you guessing and is full of very complex characters. The acting is superb and the whole thing is gearing up to what I suspect will be a gripping climax.

The music by Magnus Fiennes is exquisite and applies itself to the sense and feel of the programme. Will the soundtrack become available? All round first class entertainment."

Ken Howson, Malvern Wells
