Wil describes himself as "Focused, driven and very ambitious", much like his Waking the Dead character, DS Spencer Jordan.
He used to be a sprinter and still has a great love of athletics.
Wil takes his acting inspiration from other Black actors working in Britain today, such as Leon Herbert, Eammon Walker, Adrian Lester and his Babyfather co-stars.

He also admires his Waking the Dead co-star, Trevor Eve, for the way he is able to analyse a script. He said "Trevor is insightful. The great thing about working with Trevor is that he has taught me when reading the scripts, what is character, what is plot and what is ultimately going to move the story along."
His passions in life are his family, music - especially R&B, hip hop, salsa, soul and ragga - films and, of course, athletics.
