Tom HollanderTom Hollander

Tom's a familiar faces from his many varied roles, from a part in TV comedy Absolutely Fabulous to the film Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel and Lawrence. He appeared in the acclaimed Robert Altman movie Gosford Park, and in 2003, starred in The Lost Prince and Cambridge Spies.

  • Tom played Saffy's no-good Eurotrash fiancé Paolo in an episode of Absolutely Fabulous.

  • His early film roles included parts in Oxbridge boat race film True Blue, and Some Mother's Son with Helen Mirren, the story of an IRA hunger strike.

  • Tom was one of the trio of British actors in 1998's Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel and Lawrence with Joseph Fiennes and Rufus Sewell. Their characters are best friends who all unknowingly fall in love with the same girl.

  • He has also dabbled in costume dramas, with parts in The Clandestine Marriage and the BBC adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's Wives & Daughters.

  • Tom's played Scottish director in Maybe Baby, a code-breaker chief in Enigma, and a bereaved restaurant owner in The Lawless Heart.

  • He also has an impressive background in theatre including performances in The Judas Kiss and King Lear for the respected Almeida theatre company.

  • Tom played financially shaky Lieutenant Commander Anthony Meredith in the acclaimed Gosford Park.

  • In The Lost Prince, Tom played King George V, one of the Royal parents who couldn't connect with their child, and shouldered the guilt of not allowing their Romanov cousins into the country.

  • He played Guy Burgess, described by writer Peter Moffat as "the loudest spy in the history of espionage, a gifted gob and a wicked wit" in Cambridge Spies, alongside Rupert Penry-Jones, Toby Stephens and Samuel West.

  • As part of the cast of Gosford Park, Tom was the recipient of a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture in 2002.
