Tamsin Greig
Tamsin's made her name playing women struggling, in varying degrees, to adapt to adult life. Her credits range from cult comedies Black Books and Green Wing, to the film Shaun Of The Dead and Radio 4's The Archers. Her latest role is as a woman looking for her perfect match in BBC ONE's new drama Love Soup.

Tamsin stars as Alice, a single woman looking for her ideal partner, in romantic comedy drama Love Soup. Written by David Renwick, of One Foot In The Grave and Jonathan Creek fame, it explores the parallel lives of a perfectly matched couple who have yet to meet each other. The drama also stars American actor Michael Landes* and Trudie Styler*, wife of musician Sting.
She's a familiar face to fans of Channel 4 comedies Black Books and Green Wing. In Black Books she starred as Fran Katzenjammer, alongside Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran. In Green Wing she played the chaotic Dr Caroline Todd, a performance which in 2005 earned her a BAFTA* nomination and a Royal Television Society* Award.

Her voice is recognisable to listeners of Radio 4's The Archers. She's played troubled Debbie Aldridge in the rural soap since 1991. Over the years her character's suffered from depression and discovered her husband was a serial adulterer. In 1992, Tamsin was nominated as Best Newcomer in Radio in the Independent Radio Awards.
Tamsin appeared in the film Shaun Of The Dead*, written by and starring Simon Pegg. The pair both guest starred in the 2005 Doctor Who story The Long Game.

Her other credits include When I'm 64, Happiness, People Like Us and The Lenny Henry Show. One of her earliest TV roles was in Frank Skinner's 1994 sitcom Blue Heaven.

Tamsin was one of the two front runners to play Carla Borrego in Jonathan Creek, alongside Julia Sawalha who ultimately won the part. Tamsin proved to be unavailable due to her work on Black Books. She eventually guest starred in the episode Angel Hair.
She claims to be regularly mistaken for either Sharleen Spiteri, the lead singer of Scottish group Texas*, or impressionist and actress Ronni Ancona.
She is a drama graduate from the University of Birmingham*.

Before concentrating fully on her acting career, Tamsin worked as an administrator for the Family Planning Association*.
In an interview for the Channel 4 website*, Tamsin cited Smack The Pony as one of her biggest influences, and also admitted to being a big fan of comedy duo Cannon and Ball as a youngster.
She used to be a parachutist.

Tamsin is married to actor Richard Leaf*, whose credits include The Fifth Element and Braveheart. They both starred in the 1996 science fiction drama, Neverwhere*, and met at the wrap party. The couple wed in 1997 and have three children.
She's descended from a Scottish grandfather on her dad's side, and a Jewish great-grandfather from Poland on her mother's side.
