Rupert Penry-Jones
Rupert's TV credits include Cambridge Spies, where he played Donald McLean, North Square, and The Student Prince. His career has also taken him onto the big screen, where he's appeared in Hilary and Jackie, Charlotte Gray and The Four Feathers. Rupert is the new spy on the block in the third series of Spooks.

Rupert's early TV work included parts in Black Beauty, the adaptation of Robert Harris's Fatherland, Jane Eyre and Kavanagh QC.
He starred alongside Robson Green (Trust) and Tara Fitzgerald (Love Again) in The Student Prince.

In 1998, he was part of The Tribe, a drama written and directed by Stephen Poliakoff. Set in a mysterious commune, it also starred Joely Richardson, Jeremy Northam and Anna Friel.
In the 1999 film Virtual Sexuality, he played a perfect but virutal man created by a freak accident. He's also acted in films including Still Crazy and Hilary and Jackie.
Rupert had a lead role in Channel 4 drama North Square. Set in Leeds, this legal drama also starred Sasha Behar (Rescue Me), Phil Davis (Murder in Mind) and Helen McCrory (Charles II).
On stage, he has appeared in productions for the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company
He played the boyfriend who Cate Blanchett follows into occupied France in 2001 film Charlotte Gray.
In 2002, Rupert appeared in The Four Feathers, a historical film set in 19th century Sudan, also starring Heath Ledger, Wes Bentley and Kate Hudson.

Rupert starred in Cambridge Spies, with Tom Hollander, Toby Stephens and Samuel West. He played Donald Maclean, a spy with an interesting temperament - he was known to be warm and friendly, but also drunk and difficult.
He joined the cast of Spooks in 2004 as agent Adam Carter, and also appears in the 2005 drama Casanova as Grimani.

Rupert's partner is actress Dervla Kirwan and they have a daughter, Florence, and son, Peter. Dervla's most recent TV appearance was in 55 Degrees North and is the sultry voice of the M&S food TV ads.
