Since playing naive work experience girl Zoe in BBC drama Attachments, Romola Garai's career has been in the ascendancy. She won plaudits for her role as spoilt but beautiful Gwendolen Harleth in Daniel Deronda, and is the star of this year's films Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and Vanity Fair.
While Romola was still at school she was spotted for her first role, as the younger Elizabeth in TV drama Last of the Blonde Bombshells, which also starred such acting luminaries as Judi Dench, Ian Holm and Billie Whitelaw.
Her big break came with the part of work experience girl Zoe in internet office drama Attachments. Loved from afar by sentimental Brandon and lusted after by Reece, the character's vulnerability was gradually eroded by her worldly workmates.
