Michael French
Michael French has proved there really is life after soap. Since quitting his role as EastEnders wide boy David Wicks, he's starred in Holby City, Crime Traveller, Gentleman Thief, and Born and Bred. 2006 has seen him make a dramatic return to Holby City, and he guest stars in the new series of Dalziel and Pascoe.

Michael's big break came in EastEnders where he played the part of David Wicks in the early 1990s.
After quitting the soap, he went on to star as Detective Jeff Slade in the BBC crime and science-fiction drama Crime Traveller.

His next big role saw him play registrar Nick Jordan in the first two series of the hospital drama Holby City. He returned to the part in 2006.
His other credits include Dr. Tom Gilder in three series of Born and Bred, with James Bolam, The Fabulous Bagel Boys and the one-off drama The Gentleman Thief, alongside Nigel Havers.
He's also starred as Marc in the West End stage production of Art, alongside Stephen Tompkinson and James Fleet, and as Billy Flynn in the West End production Chicago.

Michael was spotted by an EastEnders casting agent whilst appearing in West End musical Les Miserables.

He was brought up surrounded by vegetables. His father was a greengrocer.
