Matthew Macfadyen
His starring role as MI5 agent Tom Quinn in the hit drama Spooks firmly established Matthew Macfadyen as one of Britain's top young actors. He'd already made a name for himself with parts in Warriors, Perfect Strangers, The Way We Live Now, and The Project, a drama about New Labour's rise to power. Matthew has now left Spooks and is soon to make a big-screen appearance as Mr Darcy in a film version of Pride and Prejudice.

| Since appearing as in the 1998 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, Matthew's built up an impressive list of TV credits, which also includes Warriors, Perfect Strangers, The Way We Live Now and Murder Rooms: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes.

Matthew's appeared in several feature films, including Morality Play, Ben Elton's Maybe Baby in 2000, and the 2001 film Enigma alongside Titanic star Kate Winslet. His most recent cinematic appearance was in The Reckoning, a crime drama starring Paul Bettany and Willem Dafoe.

On stage, he's acted in Battle Royal, Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Duchess of Malfi.

Matthew studied at RADA where he became friends with television presenter and Merseybeat actress Josie D'Arby.
He was perfectly qualified for a role in Spooks as he's a self-confessed John Le-Carre-style spy buff. He also had a friend who was approached to spy for her country.
