Jason Merrells

Jason Merrells served an apprenticeship as receptionist Matt on Casualty, going on to have parts in TV series such as Queer as Folk and The Project. Playing the reliable Gavin in Cutting It, he rode a wave of public sympathy when his character's wife Allie left him for cad Finn. He's also starred in the drama Sweet Medicine.

What's he been in? In 1994 Jason joined the cast of medical drama Casualty as receptionist Matt Hawley. He stayed on duty behind the desk until 1997. He has also starred in respected drama Clocking Off, playing a factory employee called Martin Leach. Jason's most attention-grabbing role to date was as stylist Gavin Ferraday in the intricately plotted Cutting It. Desperate to start a family with Allie (Sarah Parish), Gavin knew that she was having an affair with Finn (Ben Daniels) and plotted with Finn's wife Mia (Amanda Holden).
