Ian Kelsey
Ian spent three years as arrogant Dr Patrick Spiller in Casualty. With his character's unexpected demise, he seems to be cornering the market in tragic hero roles - he previously played unfortunate Dave Glover in Emmerdale! More recently, he's starred in Down to Earth alongside Angela Griffin.

Ian's acting career started in the theatre, but his first screen appearance was in a very early epsiode of Men Behaving Badly as a karaoke singer. After another small part in the 1993 mini-series Wild Justice, with Roy Scheider (Jaws), Ian got his big TV break.
He starred in rural soap Emmerdale between 1993 and 1996 as Dave Glover. Dave became entangled with boss's wife Kim Tate (Claire King) and perversely married Kathy before dying in a housefire saving Kim's son, who Dave believed to be his.
Ian used his heart-throb status to good effect while playing Danny Zuko in a production of musical Grease.

In 1999 Ian joined Casualty as the arrogant but effective Dr Patrick Spiller. He ruffled a few feathers with his blunt (sometimes rude) bedside manner, but ultimately he was a softie at heart. After a dalliance with Dr Holly Miles, he proposed to Lara. But it was a brief engagement - Patrick suffered a brain haemorrhage and died shortly afterwards.
During a break in filming Casualty, Ian filmed an episode of Murder in Mind. He starred as vigilante Liam, a policeman driven to murder and then assigned to investigate the crime he committed.

Ian joined the rural drama Down to Earth in its third series, playing the husband of Angela Griffin's character.
