Having made her name with a series of guest appearances during her earlier career, Haydn Gwynne's gone on to win leading roles in several dramas. Following a two year stint in Peak Practice, she joined the cast of new cop show Merseybeat as Superintendent Susan Blake. She left in 2002 to concentrate on her family life.
Haydn's best known for playing Supt Blake in the popular BBC cop drama Merseybeat. She's also been a regular in Peak Practice and Drop The Dead Donkey.
Haydn starred with Robert Bathurst and Stella Gonet in the 2002 BBC drama The Secret. She played a businesswoman whose murderous past caught up with her.
Haydn appeared in the 1997 film Remember Me with Robert Lindsay, Imelda Staunton and Rik Mayall, and on stage she's starred in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night.

Haydn is a keen tennis player and represented her county before she found fame as an actress. She once beat Tim Henman in a pro-celebrity doubles tournament for charity, although she suspects Henman wasn't playing to his full potential!
One of Haydn's earliest roles saw her play Dr BB Miller in the children's science fiction drama Time Riders.
Before acting, Haydn took up a lectureship teaching English in Italy.
