Dennis Haysbert
The success of 24, where he stars as President David Palmer, has earned Dennis Haysbert some well-deserved recognition. A seasoned actor, he's also appeared in many films, including Absolute Power, Heat and Waiting To Exhale.

He won his first television role in an Emmy Award-winning episode of Lou Grant.

He worked with actress Alfre Woodard in Gina Prince-Bythewood's Love and Basketball, then teamed up with her again in What’s Cooking? as the patriarch of one of four L.A. families at Thanksgiving.
His additional credits include Major League, Absolute Power, Heat, Random Hearts, Waiting To Exhale, 13th Floor, Suture and Navy Seals. Haysbert also appeared on television in the series Now & Again.
In respected 1960's-set film Love Field, Dennis's career was given a boost when he starred opposite Michelle Pfeiffer. His character was befriended by her as she travelled to President Kennedy's funeral.

Dennis has also starred alongside Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid in the Todd Haynes film, Far From Heaven (2002), as a gardener who becomes involved with Moore's character.
Dennis brought the required gravity and integrity to the part of Senator David Palmer in the first series of 24. By the second series, his character had been elected President of the USA.

After high school, Dennis was offered various sports scholarships, but instead he chose to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Dennis is active in the fight against AIDS. In 2000, he was the spokesperson for the Harlem Health Expo "Break the Silence" campaign.
