David Suchet
Best known for his portrayal of Agatha Christie's Belgian detective Poirot, David Suchet's CV makes impressive reading. From Blott on the Landscape to The Way We Live Now, he's made his name in some of the most popular dramas of recent years. His talent was rewarded with an OBE in the Queen's 2002 Birthday Honours List.

David's earliest credits include guest parts in the TV dramas The Protectors, The Professionals and Tales of the Unexpected. He also appeared in the films A Tale Of Two Cities in 1980 and The Missionary in 1982.
One of his first lead roles saw him star as Blott, alongside George Cole, Geraldine James and Simon Cadell in Blott on the Landscape.
But it was his definitive performance as Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot that put him among Britain's leading actors.

He won a Royal Television Society award in 2002 for his performance as Augustus Melmotte in the acclaimed BBC drama The Way We Live Now. The role also earned him a BAFTA nomination.
His other recent TV credits include NCS Manhunt, Murder In Mind, Victoria and Albert, and the part of legendary barrister George Carman, in the drama-documentary Get Carman.

His wife's called Sheila and he has two children, Robert and Katherine.
David's the brother of news reader John Suchet.
