Corin RedgraveCorin Redgrave

Corin comes from a distinguished acting family and has had a long and successful career on stage, TV and in films. In 1998 he won a Laurence Olivier award for his performance as Boss Whalen in the Tennessee Williams play Not About Nightingales. More recently he's starred in The Forsyte Saga and guested in Waking the Dead.

What's he been in?

  • One of Corin's early TV roles was Jonathan Harker in Dracula. He also appeared in the 1969 adaptation of David Copperfield, Anthony and Cleopatra, The Ice House, Trial and Retribution IV and Shackleton.

  • He's also appeared in a number of prestigious films, including A Man for All Seasons, The Charge of the Light Brigade, Oh! What a Lovely War, Excalibur, In the Name of the Father and as Andie MacDowell's husband in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

  • Corin's numerous stage appearances have included parts in Oscar Wilde's Gross Indecency and In Extremis/De Profundis, and The Cherry Orchard.

  • He's also performed in radio drama including Mr Stimpson and Mr Gorse for Radio 4 and King Lear for
    Radio 3.

  • Corin's the son of Sir Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, brother of Lynn and Vanessa Redgrave, father of Jemma Redgrave and uncle to Joely and Natasha Richardson - quite a thespian dynasty!

  • His first TV role was in the 'Lobster Quadrille' episode of The Avengers playing a character called Quentin Slim.

  • In 1993 Corin, his wife and sister, Vanessa, founded their own theatre company, The Moving Theatre Company. Corin is also an Associate Artistic Director of Houston's Alley Theatre.

  • Corin wrote the biography Michael Redgrave: My Father. He's also written two plays, Roy and Daisy and Fool for the Rest of his Life, both for BBC Radio.

  • Corin was born on 16th July 1939 in London.

  • He's married to actress Kika Markham.
