Cherie Lunghi
Cherie's had a long and successful screen and stage career. A regular in the second series of Cutting It, she's also guest starred in Waking the Dead, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and EastEnders. She's also famed for her appearances in a series of coffee ads.

One of Cherie's earliest screen credits is as Ephesus Townsperson in a TV production of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors in 1978. It wasn't long before she was going on to more illustrious parts in a range of drama series like Ellis Island, The Lady's Not for Burning, The Monocled Mutineer and David Copperfield. She also guest starred in The Inspector Lynley Mysteries.

Cherie burst into the public consciousness as Guinevere in John Boorman's acclaimed film, Excalibur. She also appeared in Oliver Twist, The Mission alongside Robert de Niro and Jeremy Irons and Jack and Sarah with Richard E. Grant. She played Kenneth Branagh's mother in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
She's had many stage roles, including with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Other appearances have been in Sir Peter Hall's production of The Homecoming and Picasso's Women at the Ambassador's Theatre.
She's narrated audiobooks, including Friends from England by Anita Brookner.

Cherie wanted to be a ballet dancer but switched to acting when she attended stage school.
She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Other alumni include Neil Pearson.
She does drink Kenco instant coffee but prefers the real thing.
She's half-Italian and speaks French fluently.
Cherie can speak with a variety of accents including Birmingham, Cockney, Dorset, Geordie, Manchester, Northern Irish, Yorkshire and Standard Scots.
She's skilled at aerobics, ballet, ballroom, jazz and tap dancing. She also paints and plays the piano, and is highly skilled at horse-riding and skiing.

She is divorced from Roland Joffe who directed her in The Mission. They have a daughter, Nathalie, who was born in 1986.
