Bryan Dick
Bryan Dick has been a rising star for the last few years, appearing in TV dramas such as Blackpool, The Long Firm and Twenty Thousand Streets Under The Sky. His career's set to continue its ascendancy with roles in new BBC dramas Bleak House and The Virgin Queen.

Bryan's most recognisable TV role to date has been DC Blythe in BBC ONE's hit musical drama Blackpool in 2004. Appearing alongside new Doctor Who star David Tennant, the pair played two detectives trying to link a murder in the seaside town to casino owner Ripley Holden (David Morrissey).

He's also familiar to movie fans from a role in the Russell Crowe* film Master and Commander. Bryan played the part of carpenter's mate Joseph Nagle, in the blockbuster which was filmed over six months in Mexico.
Later this year, Bryan will be seen as Prince Turveydrop in the BBC's new soap-style adaptation of Charles Dickens' Bleak House. He's part of an all-star cast, which also includes Gillian Anderson, Charles Dance, Nathaniel Parker, Johnny Vegas and Alistair McGowan.
Also this year, he'll be playing Thomas Wyatt in BBC drama The Virgin Queen. Another impressive cast is led by Anne Marie Duff*, with Joanne Whalley*, Dexter Fletcher, Tara Fitzgerald, Sienna Guillory and Emilia Fox also starring.

Earlier in 2005, Bryan starred as Bob in Twenty Thousand Streets Under The Sky, a story of unrequited love in 1930s London, broadcast in April on BBC FOUR.
His other drama credits include The Long Firm, Passer By and White Teeth*, as well as guest roles in Strange, Dalziel and Pascoe, Merseybeat and Red Cap.

Away from TV, Bryan's performed on stage in the plays Plasticine* and Sliding With Suzanne* at the Royal Court Theatre, London, and School Play* at the Soho Theatre*.
On the big screen, he can be seen in the 2005 films Colour Me Kubrick*, about a man who impersonated legendary film director Stanley Kubrick on the set of Eyes Wide Shut*, and Brothers of the Head*, a story of conjoined twins groomed as rock stars.

One of Bryan's earliest roles was in the 1994 children's drama Earthfasts*, which also starred a young Paul Nicholls. Another appearance as a child actor was as the younger version of the title character in the 1992 drama The Life and Times Of Henry Pratt*.
He revealed in a newspaper interview* how he'd hit it off with Hollywood bad boy Russell Crowe. They both play guitar and jammed together while working on Master and Commander.
As well as ballet and stage combat, Bryan lists one of his skills as Stilt Walking.

Bryan grew up in Denton Holme, Carlisle*, and later studied at the Cumbria Institute of the Arts*.
His partner is the actress Loo Brealey. She's best known for playing Roxy Bird in Casualty, between 2002 and 2004, and will also be appearing in Bleak House.
