Dr Jude Carlyle

Jude joined on 3 September 2001 and left on 19 March 2004.

Jude was from a working class, Glasgow background. She developed a black sense of humour from being a police surgeon and could drink most men under the table.

Jude was given to wild impulses and was attracted to the dark and the dangerous. She had been married twice but both marriages were big mistakes. The second lasted just six weeks when Jude discovered her husband in bed with her sister, Beth.

In 2004, Jude had an affair with her boyfriend's father, Bill. Jude became pregnant and was unsure who the father was. When Bill's wife found out about the affair, she pushed Jude down the stairs. The baby was unharmed but Jude decided she would have nothing more to do with the family.

Ben proposed to Jude, wanting to protect her, but she rejected him. Jude then discovered that her baby had Down's Syndrome and left Letherbridge to be with her family in Glasgow.
