Crossover Interview
Read an exclusive interview with Casualty's Exec Producer

Q. Why did you decide to produce another Christmas crossover?
MERVYN: Simply because the last one was so successful that the Channel Controller ordered another!

Q. What can you tell us about the episodes?
MERVYN: The episodes feature a major road traffic accident in a very awkward place. There are intense and tragic consequences for not only the warring families at the centre of the story, but also for some of the regular characters in both Casualty and Holby.

Q. Will it be as high octane as last year?
MERVYN: We hope so, although this year we've managed to avoid burning the hospital down. Although that was fun wasn't it?

Q. Which production filmed and edited the episodes?
MERVYN: Some of the cast from both shows were involved in the two parts. It was filmed on the sets of both Casualty in Bristol and Holby City in Elstree. A producer was appointed seperately for the whole thing (Diana Kyle) who hired Paul Harrison to direct, so it was run as a separate production this time. That said, both Casualty and Holby City had to be heavily involved because of the great complexity of scheduling regular characters from both shows, which are themselves continuous.
