The Year In Drama: January 2002

'Playing The Field' The year kicked off with a new series of Playing The Field, the drama following the fortunes of a woman's football team. Other highlights included the return of Michelle Collins and Paul Kaye in Two Thousand Acres of Sky, and Stephen Tompkinson and Nick Berry in the crime drama In Deep, part of the Crime Doubles season.

There was also another chance to see the acclaimed drama Perfect Strangers starring, amongst others, Michael Gambon and Matthew Macfadyen. Meanwhile Kenneth Branagh and Colin Firth starred in Conspiracy, which re-created the 1942 summit at Wannsee, on the outskirts of Berlin at which the Third Reich plotted the annihilation of 11 million Jewish people.
