I am delighted with the response by our local community to this initiative which will focus our community on the potential legacy of the London Olympics delivered in Dorset. As the Regional Organiser for the Federation of Small Businesses, I am delighted that Christchurch will be a training camp for overseas sailing copetitors, and look forward to welcoming overseas teams to this beautiful part of Dorset

the only "traditional" handover from China to London was at Sandbanks where Dragon of the South, Chinese Dragon and Lion dancers handed over the flag to the Mayor of Poole in a spectacular colourful display.

We were on the beach for most of the day and evening, it was great. The only dissapointment was that there was no live link to london from Weymouth or any mention of the sailing teams wonderful success.
