Russell T Davies Discusses the Future of Doctor Who

Executive Producer Russell T Davies has been discussing the world of Doctor Who and his own future on Radio 4's Front Row.

In a typically engaging interview he reveals how Doctor Who has developed and what he enjoys about working on the show. He also touches on 'the ascendancy of Matt Smith' and recalls how keeping the next Doctor's identity a secret until the official announcement had the whole team 'rattling with stress'!

Russell T Davies is also the Executive Producer of Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures and he offers an insight into these shows, as well as sharing some of his views on television drama in general.

Finally, he talks about his hopes and anxieties about his own future in the States, admitting he'll be starting from scratch in the US and calling the move terrifying. But when pressed, it's clear his excitement outweighs his anxiety. 'I just can't wait,' he enthuses. 'Big adventure! Lots of fun!'
