The BBC Audiobook recording of Toby Hadoke's one man show Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf has been nominated for a prestigious Sony Radio Academy Award.
The show is an autobiographical piece, told along the timeline of Doctor Who history, using smart comedic observations and excerpts from Toby's teenage diaries. These include how he coped with being bullied, why he never got the girl, and later how being such a fan helped to actually get the girl and end up with two children that are now the envy of every kid in the playground.
Toby commented on the nomination: "It's been quite a fortnight for me - I made my West End debut with the stage show and on the opening night an old friend of mine sent me a message saying that the radio version of Moths was up for a Sony. Something that never even entered my radar."
Toby added: "It's especially pleasing that producer Paul Hardy and BBC 7 will get some much deserved kudos from The Sonys, because without their unfailing enthusiasm and hard work on the project, I wouldn't be in this happy position."
The CD is still available to purchase and Toby is currently touring the show around the UK until June.
