The Waters of Mars is one of Doctor Who's most eagerly awaited specials and at long last a clip from the adventure has been released and information about the story is starting to trickle out.

We knew that Lindsay Duncan was onboard as the Doctor's companion, Adelaide, but the BBC announced today, 'Adelaide is head of the Mars Base and doesn't take kindly to an uninvited appearance by The Doctor'. So it looks like the Doctor will be literally landing in trouble, but judging from our dramatic clip, he'll soon have other worries to contend with.

It's also been confirmed that Peter O'Brien, star of Neighbours and Casualty, guest stars as Ed, Adelaide's second in command.

The Waters of Mars is written by Russell T Davies and Phil Ford and directed by Graeme Harper whose previous credits on the show include Doomsday, Utopia and Journey's End.
