Doctor Who scriptwriter Steven Moffat has won this year's British Academy Television Award for Best Writer.
It's in recognition of his Doctor Who Series Three script for Blink.
The award was presented to Steven at the annual BAFTA Craft Awards ceremony, which honours TV's behind-the-scenes people.
"A crafta BAFTA - the award that says you're great at working in television, but you're too ugly to be on it," joked Steven. "Hugely thrilled to win a (technically second) BAFTA for Blink, mostly cos the other nominated writers are much better than me. I was so sure I hadn't won, I didn't bother with preparing a speech. Or not drinking. Apologies to any policemen I may have punched. Or even proposed to."
Moffat beat Jimmy McGovern (for The Street), Tony Marchant (for The Mark of Cain) and Heidi Thomas (for Cranford).
This is Moffat's second BAFTA Award for Blink, having recently won in the BAFTA Cymru (Welsh BAFTAs) scriptwriting category.
