How can I keep up to date with Doctor Who news? Do you have an RSS feed?
All our news is listed in the News Section of the website. Although, the best way to keep updated with the world of Doctor Who news would be to use the RSS feed we provide. To use it, download one of the many RSS readers available on the internet (many of them are free) then add our RSS feed to it.
How can I download ring tones and wallpapers to my phone?
If you have a WAP (internet) enabled mobile device, you can get these audio downloads in one of the following ways. Type bbc.co.uk/mobile/drwho into your mobile browser or Text WHO to 81010.
Terms and Conditions: Each SMS message sent to the BBC for this service will cost 12-15p (network charges vary). The BBC cannot guarantee that this WAP push message will work on your handset. So far as may be permitted by law, the BBC disclaims all liability for any loss or damage.
Terms of Use: bbc.co.uk downloads are only for personal, non-commercial use. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external sites.
How can I get/download sounds, wallpapers, videos to my computer?
Can you provide larger wallpapers?
Larger widescreen wallpapers for Series Four have now been introduced. We are unlikely to be reversioning existing wallpapers to the larger sizes however.
Can I request specific images/sounds?
Unfortunately, we cannot take specific requests; we update the site as often as possible with the best of the material that is made available to us.
Can I send in a picture?
Sure you can, although we don't have the space to put it on the website. Sorry. If you want you can send it straight to Doctor Who Magazine or Doctor Who Adventures Magazine. You may be lucky enough to get it printed!
I don't like RealPlayer or Windows Media Player. Why do you use it?
For rights reasons, the BBC is limited to offering only streaming video - through Real Player and Windows Media. We know neither is ideal, but no piece of software is. There are no plans to adopt streaming QuickTime or MPEGs. We are, however, exploring the possibility of using Flash at a later date.
Why can't I download the Doctor Who theme?
We're sorry, but for music copyright reasons, we're unable to provide a downloadable version. The track is available on the official Doctor Who soundtrack album, available online or from your local record shop.
Can I use pictures, music or any other copyright material from your website on my website?
As it is copyright material, we can not endorse its use. We are aware that several websites do so without our permission, they use it at their own risk. Also, if we accept, this may also be considered as endorsing a person's website, including any of its views.
I am doing a school project/case study on Doctor Who, can I use copyright material?
If the material is only going to be used within your work and available only to you, plus and examiner or two, then yes, you may. If the work is to be displayed, performed or distributed in any way, for commercial or non-commercial purposes, then this would be a breach of copyright.
Can I link to your website?
Yes, sure you can, as long as your site is of non-commercial nature and for personal interests only.
Can you link to my site?
No, sorry, we aren't allowed as it may be considered as endorsing an outside site, including any of its views.
How do I play your online games?
Hints and tips for 'The Last Dalek' game can be found here.
Most of the other games, however, have help screens which should answer your questions.
I can't get your games to play. They don't load on the page? What might be wrong?
