Planet Of The Ood - Episode Guide

"Do you take milk and sugar?" asks the Ood. A big laugh from the kids. "So are these going to be good Ood, then?" asks Harry. He soon gets his answer - "Red eyes... yeaaaahh!" says Samuel. He recognises an angry Ood when he sees one!

The kids enjoy the electric guitar section of the theme tune. They love the sound when they say the word "Ooooood", too.

The Doctor and Donna rock from side to side in the TARDIS. "It's like a seesaw!" laughs Samuel. "Wheee!" says Harry. Donna says she's terrified, but the kids are grinning in excitement.

It's snowing outside the TARDIS. "Finally!" cheers Samuel. "Not ash or ballast!" "Oooh, nice view," notes Harry, appreciatively. Adam is amused by the Doctor teasing Donna about life back home: "Don't grumble about telly, Doctor, because you're on it!" Then a familiar-looking rocket ship travels right over them. "Thunderbird 3!" yell the family together in delight.

Is that a bad Ood?" whispers Amy nervously. Adam stares at Ood Sigma: "If the Ood are killing people, why do they have one with them?" Samuel seems to be the Ood expert: "It's only when they've got red eyes," he explains helpfully.

The Doctor finds the dying Ood. When Donna picks up its sphere and talks into it, Adam and Samuel look sad at her genuine mistake. Amy looks relieved that the Ood is incapacitated.

When the Ood has a red-eye attack, the kids leap up in their seats! Samuel recovers his composure fastest: "Do it again!"

"What 'devil'?" asks Amy as the Doctor recalls a previous adventure. "That huge Beast in the last Ood story, remember?" prompts Harry. "Satan!" Samuel reminds them. "Oh yeah," says Amy, and worriedly snuggles closer to Mum. Adam and Samuel are grinning.

"Doctor and Mrs Noble" gets a big laugh from the whole family.

In the offices, the Warhol-style illustrations of the Ood have caught Adam's eye: "They all have red eyes!" Samuel loves it when Solana is explaining that the Ood are all safe, intercut with the escaping Ood. "That one's not!" he declares.

"Doh!" says one of the Ood. "Hey, that's Homer Simpson!" laughs Harry.

Donna and the Doctor discuss the date. Samuel does a bit of mental maths to work out exactly how many years in the future they are. "Hey, they mentioned bees last time, remember!" shouts Harry. Amy shrugs "That's not important, Harry!"

Adam is looking at another Ood with caution. "The circle," it says. "I think that one's going mad next," notes Adam warily. But it's another Ood who starts foaming at the... er... tentacles. "Yuk!" declare the kids simultaneously.

Mr Halpen has a drink. Adam doesn't trust Ood Sigma. "I think I'd poison his drink." "What does it taste like?" asks Amy. It's Dad's turn to shrug.

The Ood is shot horribly. "That's not very hospitable," says Samuel. "Perhaps they didn't like him dribbling its food on their floor," says Dad. Samuel gives Dad a disapproving look. "Foooood!" says Adam.

In Warehouse 15, and Samuel is frustrated: "What are they looking at?" Adam thinks he knows: "I bet it's a giant Ood." "But why won't they show us?" insists Amy, concerned.

Donna can whistle. Samuel is impressed, until she confesses that she's a West Ham fan. In the crate, the Ood all speak at once: "The circle must be broken." And all the communicator balls light up at once! "Niiiiiice!" says Samuel. Donna says she thinks it's creepy. "Tell me about it," says Adam.

The crane chases the Doctor around the warehouse. "Oh no! I knew that would happen!" wails Samuel. "Do you think he'll win a prize with that grabber?" ponders Adam. Amy's wide-eyed with concern as Donna is locked in with the Ood!

"Ood attack!" yell the older boys, delighted. They've obviously decided which side they're on now. "Wow!" gasps Samuel. "They've all got the red eye!" says Adam. "It's worse than your photographs, Dad."

The Doctor asks Solana for help, but she looks uncertain. "Say yes!" Samuel yells at her. But Solana ignores his plea, and alerts the guards. Samuel groans. "She'll be in trouble now," notes Harry, astutely.

Mr Halpen's hair is coming out, but he's having more of the tonic. Amy's horrified. "Do you still trust Ood Sigma?" Samuel asks him. Adam has a more practical solution: "You'd think he'd just get a wig." Dad seems to be unconsciously fingering his own hairline.

"How come only the Doctor can hear the singing?" asks Samuel. But the new Ood are suddenly much more fascinating. "They've got chords!"

The Doctor helps Donna to hear the Ood's lament, but she can't bear it. The kids look solemn.

The Ood have got their brains in their hands. The kids are amazed. Then they're shocked to hear Donna say she wants to go home!

The older boys don't like Mr Halpen at all. They don't much like the VIPs either, and exhort the Ood to go red-eyed. Harry watches nervously. Amy decides it'd be a good idea to get a drink, and rapidly vacates the sofa.

The VIPs get slaughtered. "Ooh, that one was unlucky," Adam observes with an Ood Sigma-style detachment. "He got zapped from both sides" "What's the gas going to do?" asks Amy from the far side of the room. "Kill the Ood!" replies Harry, and he bites his lip nervously. The guard who tried to kill the Doctor with the grabber meets his end. "That'll teach you," snaps Samuel. "Not a lesson he's going to remember," suggests Dad.

Mr Halpen tells Ood Sigma to rejoin his own people. "I hope he'll rescue the Doctor," suggests Samuel pragmatically. Unfortunately, our handcuffed heroes are faced with a crowd of angry Ood. "Uh-oh!" chorus the boys.

"Doctor-Donna-friend! Doctor-Donna-friend!" Fortunately, the message gets through to the Ood. "Woohoo!" cheer the boys. Amy is visibly relieved and warily returns to the sofa.

"Go to Warehouse 15!" yells Harry, helpfully. Then a big explosion throws the Doctor and Donna to the ground. "Wooaah!" call the whole family at once. The detonator packs are put into position. "Don't do it!" Adam exhorts them. "At least, not until we see what it is..." Samuel adds. "But what are those things?" asks Amy, frowning. "Bombs, Amy! Shhh!" whispers Harry.

It's a big brain! "Awww!" says Mum, unexpectedly. "Mu-um," groans Samuel, "it's not exactly cute." Amy grimaces.

"Good Oooo..." Mr Halpen trails off. Samuel frowns in puzzlement.

Dr Ryder is a spy who's been working up to this moment for years... and then he gets turfed over the balcony! The boys goggle at his demise. "He's got eaten," says Samuel slowly, "by a brain." "But... but how can that happen?" wonders Amy. This time, Harry can't answer.

Mr Halpen's hair loss has got worse. And now he's peeling the back of his head off! "Aaaugh!" says Mum. Amy clings tightly to her, mesmerised by the horrific scene. Tentacles drop out of Halpen's mouth.. Halpen has turned into an Ood. "Ewww!" says Samuel. Adam looks on in amazement: "He's barfed up his own brain!" "Woah," says Harry quietly, "I might have nightmares about that!" (he didn't - but some kids might!)

The circle is broken. The Ood raise their hands and sing their happy song. The whole family smile. "Yay!" cheers Samuel. He and Adam raise their hands like the Ood.

Ood Sigma says the Doctor's song must end soon. "What does that mean?" Adam and Samuel exchange a worried look. "Regeneration!" yells Harry with realisation. "he's going to change again!"

The credits roll and Adam sums up the episode: "That was really... Gooood."
