More awards for Who

More awards for WhoWriters honoured on both sides of the Atlantic.

Russell T Davies has been named Industry Player Of The Year at the Edinburgh Television Festival.

A team of top TV bosses - including Sky's Dawn Airey, Five's Chris Shaw and ITV's Alison Sharman - gave the award to Russell in recognition of his revival of Doctor Who.

Meanwhile in America, there was victory for Steven Moffat at the prestigious Hugo awards for Science Fiction.

Moffat's The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances beat Battlestar Galactica to take top honour for Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form). Rob Shearman's Dalek came second, with Paul Cornell's Father's Day in third.

"We are absolutely over the moon to win such a prestigious award, and doubly delighted to take all three of the top positions," said Russell T Davies.

"It's great to know that the worldwide science fiction community, as well as the general public, appreciates what we're doing as we embark on filming the third series."
