Doctor Who Night on BBC Three, Sunday 9 April.
Get yourself thoroughly prepared for the start of the new series of Doctor Who by watching BBC Three's Doctor Who Night on Sunday 9 April.
The evening is presented by actor Corey Johnson, who played billionaire collector Henry Van Statten in last year's episode Dalek. It all kicks off at 7pm with a brand new hour-long edition of Doctor Who Confidential. Narrated by Mark Gatiss, this special programme, entitled One Year On, will take viewers on a retrospective journey through the 2005 series of Doctor Who.
This new special will also give viewers some tantalising glimpses of what they can expect to see in the weeks to come on BBC One, including some frightening new baddies and the return of a certain mechanical mutt...
Following on at 8pm is another chance to catch David Tennant's debut as the Doctor in The Christmas Invasion. In this special 60-minute adventure, the planet Earth is left vulnerable to alien attack as Rose tends to the unconscious, recently-regenerated Doctor.
Rounding off the evening is a repeat of the 2003 documentary The Story of Doctor Who, created for the programme's 40th Anniversary. It's a must for anybody who wants to learn more about vintage Doctor Who.
And don't forget that BBC Three is also repeating the entirety of the 2005 series of Doctor Who (starring Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper) over the course of the next week or so:

Doctor who is fantastic. I love it. David Tennant and Billie Piper are excelent. Series 1 was fab and series 2 was anazingly better. I can't wait for series 3. David Tennant couldn't be a better doctor are Billie Piper couldn't be a better companion even if they tried. LONG LIVE DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!!

If Christopher Ecclson brought the Doctor back then David Tennant has personified the show and the doctor to a whole new level.
He simply is DOCTOR WHO!!! & the chemistry with Billie is amazing.
Long may it continue & I don't think I've ever seen a more talented actor more suited for the role.
Nice going David and I cannot wait for whatever else has to come this season! its going to be corker going by the first episode alone!

I have only recently started watching Doctor Who as I am only 13. I found the first series (Christopher Eccelston) brilliant. And seeing the Christmas Invasion David Tennant is going to be a superb Doctor. And I am glad Billie Piper has stayed another series. I think it is really grest they have brought Doctor Who back because I had heard so much about it. I thought it was great that they bought back the Daleks and now the Cybermen. I really can't wait for the new series!!!

I have been a fan of Dr Who ever since I was a child, (yes I hide my face when it got scarry). The 2005 Series was brilliant and I must say what I have seen of the 2006 series that trend is only going to get better! Thanks to David Tennant for stepping into the shoes as the New Dr you have made the Dr your role now, long may you stay. I would also like to say Billie Piper has, and is, the best Dr Who assistant ever! The new Dynamic pairing of David and Billie will just make the show even stronger then it is now! :)

I remember the original series way back in the sixties. iwas a fan then and you are keeping up a great tradition I thought at first I would be disappointed because i thought nothing could be as good as the old programmes but the new doctor is enthralling as the old series, well done BBC at ast something worth paying our licence fee for!

I´m a fan since I had seen the fifth Doctor on screen in Germany in the early 90´s. The new series wasn´t on our tv-screens yet but I´ve seen it and it rocks pretty good. I think, there will be a huge young fan-community soon in germany and it will be FANTASTIC!!!
