SMITH AND JONES: Judoon Translator

Peter McKinstry: "We had designed and built a scanner for the Cybermen episodes which hadn't been seen on screen (when Jake is scanning Mickey). Everyone had liked the prop, so I suggested we do a slight redesign on it and give it to the Judoon. It sits right at home with all the Judoon cylindrical gadgets. Including moving parts on a prop, like the two small arms that pop out of this, adds that extra level of detail. You actually see it doing something rather than just being pointed or waved around."
