(0) the Doctor's recharging the TARDIS in Cardiff. "Do you think he'll have any more trouble with the Slitheen?" asks Samuel. "Oh yeah, Boomtown and the Ninth Doctor!" recalls Harry.
(1) Jack's back! Adam and Samuel think his chase across to the TARDIS is hilarious. The kids are puzzled by the Doctor's indifference) Amy looks positively cross) and then they're amazed as Jack clings to the exterior of the TARDIS!
(2) "Hey!" cheers Adam as the opening sequence rolls, "John Barrowman's got his own title!" "Oooh, and it's by Russell T Davies!" notes a delighted Harry. Samuel points to the TARDIS as it vanishes into the vortex: "Yeah. And if you look really closely, you can see Captain Jack still hanging on to the outside!" This makes the boys laugh.
A howling crowd is chasing an unfortunate man across a gloomy landscape. "Shuuut uuuup!" Adam tells them. "Are they gremlins?" asks Samuel. "They're Emos," decides Adam. "Humaaaaaans!" shout Amy and Harry together, laughing.
(3) Professor Yana and his startlingly blue assistant excite the kids. "Is she a fish?" puzzles Samuel. "An insect," Adam explains. But now she's explaining to the Professor about drinking her own internal milk. "Euuurggh!" groan the entire family.
(4) There's a double drumbeat in the incidental music, that Samuel and Harry recognise from one of the trailers. They tap it out on their knees as it plays.
The Doctor dithers about going outside the TARDIS. He gets a big laugh from the kids when he says "We should leave," and then doesn't!
(5) "Where is Jack?" frets Samuel, and then recognises something... "Hey, the Torchwood theme!" "How do you know?" asks Dad suspiciously. "Like in Army of Ghosts!" offers Harry, helpfully. Samuel changes the conversation quickly: "There's Jack, on the ground! Oh no, he's dead!" Jack proves him wrong immediately.
(5) When the Doctor tells Jack off for flirting, Samuel laughs. Amy's extremely happy to see the handsome Captain return, and moves closer to the telly.
(6) the Doctor and Jack's discussion the kids smile for Rose, but feel sad for Martha who is listening. They enjoy Jack's description of his vortex manipulator, and the Doctor dismissing it as a "space hopper".
(8) "She was a blonde?" snorts Martha. "What a surprise." A big laugh from the kids, except Amy who frowns and absently fiddles with her own hair the Doctor chastises Martha and Jack. "That's not blogging," Adam tells him, "that's just gossiping."
A wonderful view of the hive-like accommodation makes Samuel gasp: "That looks like Bionicles!" (High praise indeed.) "Is Mickey coming back, too?" asks Amy hopefully as his name is mentioned.
(9) Jack's running full pelt. "If he's over 100," asks Samuel, "does that mean he can have a heart attack? Well, he's not doing too badly here."
"Apart from being chased by that crowd of Emos," smiles Adam. "Hungry Emos!" agrees Samuel. Dad is looking utterly baffled, and asks: "What are Emos?" Adam snorts at such ignorance: "They're extreme Gribleys." Mum laughs at Dad's incredulity: "Get with the lingo, granddad!"
(10) The guard on the gate shouts: "Show me your teeth!" The boys oblige, snapping their gnashers at the screen. "Now close the gate!" Samuel tells the guard.
(12) Dad laughs at the description of "a doctor of everything". Samuel's less impressed with something else: "He's lost the TARDIS again!" Harry rolls his eyes and slaps his forehead.
(13) Jack wrinkles his nose at "the ripe old smell of humans". Dad does too: "Like a kid's bedroom, I imagine." Samuel waggles his socks at Dad in revenge for this slur. the Doctor says that humans are "indomitable", and Dad gives a little cheer. The kids give him a funny look.
They laugh as Jack starts to chat up a handsome bloke. "There's a human who's incorrigible," says Dad. "Incorrigible."
(14) "Woah!" exclaims Harry. "Long way down!" And there's more to worry about) one of the humans has pointy teeth! "Whoops!" declares Samuel, and checks his Dad for a reaction.
(15) Amy smiles warmly and the kindly old Professor and his assistant reappear. "What's her name, Dad?" she asks. Whoever she is, Captain Jack is chatting her up , and Samuel and Adam are laughing again.
(16) "It's Chantho!" smiles Amy, as the name is revealed.
(17) "Give him a hand!" jokes Samuel, who isn't at all surprised to see what Captain Jack has in his backpack. Harry and Amy stick out their tongues "Urrrrrgh!"
And now, a flashback to the Christmas episode when the Sycorax leader chopped off the hand. "Oooh!" says Samuel, sitting up straighter in his seat. "I wonder what happened to the Doctor's sword?" "I'll check on eBay," mutters Dad.
(18) Adam and Samuel are amused by the Doctor's disappointed look when no-one seems to remember the Time Lords. Another big laugh that Martha still thinking about the Doctor growing back his hand.
(19) The Professor is having a funny turn. "What's wrong with him?" asks Amy, concerned. "Is it a heart attack?" worries Samuel. "Maybe he's going to turn into a pointy-toothed Emo?" wonders Adam. "Or a Grimley?" suggests Dad hopefully. Samuel gives him a faintly pitying look.
(20) I'm brilliant!" boasts the Doctor, and Harry nods, laughing, in agreement. The lights all come on, and Adam and Samuel give a big cheer. "Ooh," decides Samuel, "it's like Platform One." "Hang on," demands Adam, "the Doctor can't leave without the TARDIS."
(22) The pointy-toothed Futurekind woman is still there... "Don't let her on board!" demands Adam.
(23) Amy's beginning to find the sound of drums quite disconcerting.
(24) The Professor's having another funny turn, and it's because he's seen the TARDIS. "There's that music again!" Samuel taps along to it again. "Ooo-weeee-oooo!" chimes in Harry.
(25) The kids are amused by the insect being provoked by Martha to be "rude" by not saying "Chan" and "Tho". They giggle at her naughtiness.
(26) The crew deal with the radiation. "I've never heard of that kind of radiation," Adam muses, "So maybe it hasn't been discovered yet." Samuel watches tensely, twiddling his fingers anxiously.
(27) The Futurekind woman approaches the control panel. Samuel's not worried: "What's she gonna do....bite it with her pointy teeth?" Adam points out the big anvil that she's picked up. "Oh dear," agrees Samuel quietly.
(28) A shocking moment for one of our heroes as Jack is electrocuted. Samuel winces: "He's dead again. Again." Beneath the spaceship, a human dissolves in his own spacesuit. "Ewww! Oh no!" grimaces Adam. "I hope we don't discover that radiation any time soon."
Harry and Amy are horrified at the terrible turn of events. But there's a job to be done, and the Doctor has just the man. Jack's alive again with a jolt, and Samuel and Amy are delighted.
(29) Harry's astounded at Jack's new power. "So he can't die? He's immortal? Wow!"
(30) Samuel eyes the Doctor accusingly: "Why did he leave Jack behind?" Amy gives the Doctor her hardest stare. the Doctor watches Jack at work. Harry finds it extremely tense, expecting the brave Captain to vaporised at any second.
(31) "You're wrong!" makes Adam and Samuel look glum. But then the whole family is delighted to see Rose again, no matter how briefly!
(33) Jack's the only guy Jack's ever going to be satisfied with) the kids laugh. But then they feel sorry for the sad old Professor...
(34) ...and then get a huge shock when he produces the fob watch! "Look! Look!" screams Harry, pointing at the screen and leaping out of his seat. Samuel gasps, and jerks a look at his Dad for a reaction.
(35) Martha explains to the Doctor that he may not be the last Time Lord. "Wow!" yells Samuel.
(37) The Professor is pondering what's going on. The boys fidget in agitation, Amy is frozen on the sofa, eyes wide. And now... "The Face of Boe!" says Samuel in awe! The watch is opened! "You Are Not Alone" spells... they goggle at the screen.
(38) "What's happened to his eyes?" Samuel wants to know. "What's going on?" Adam's noticed something else worrying: "He's opened the gates! He's letting them in!" Samuel says: "We don't know what they're going to do when they get in." Adam gives him a funny look: "With teeth like that, they're not just going to shake hands."
(40) The Professor reveals who his is... "I am the Master!" "YES!" shouts Harry, punching the air in excitement. Then he considers: "Oooh, that's gotta be bad news." Samuel whoops: "Ooooh! He was in the earlier TV series!"
Not that this is any reason for sympathy, as he yells at the blue insect: "Shoot him!" Amy is horrified as Chantho is electrocuted
(41) The mortally wounded insect manages to shoot the Master. "Bullseye!" yells Samuel in delight. But the Master gets into the TARDIS. "Don't worry," Samuel reassures his family, "the Doctor's got a key... oh no!" The Master's operated the snick on the lock, which greatly amuses the whole family.
(42) The kids are perched on the edges of their seats, amazed and delighted as the Master regenerates!
(43) Thee kids love it when the Master tries out his new voice. "The Doctor knows he's the Master!" shouts an amazed Harry.
(44) Dismay as the TARDIS fades away, leaving the Doctor and his friends helpless! Adam heaves a deep breath. Amy's speechless. "End of the universe, bye bye!" mimics Harry. Samuel is bouncing up and down on his seat now: "What a brilliant ending!"
